Maryland Heights, MO - We are currently seeking an HVAC mechanical designer with 2+ years of experience to join our growing team! Selected candidate will work closely with licensed professional engineers in the design and production of mechanical construction documents for a variety of commercial projects. As a key contributor to the success of firm, this position is highly deadline driven, requiring excellent organizational and collaboration skills. Primary responsibilities will include designing/drafting in AutoCAD and Revit MEP on concurrent projects.
Essential Functions:
Design - Perform design and layout functions required for the project (duct/pipe sizing and routing; equipment room layout; flow diagrams; coordination with building elements and building systems and coordination with outside clients), while coordinating with designers, drafters, and engineers. Review drawings for proper practices, quality, clarity, and consistency with office design standards.
Communication - Effectively coordinate with internal and external members of the design team, including firm staff, client owners and architects. Coordinate equipment locations, routing and share pertinent project information with other disciplines and/or clients in a timely manner.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Prior experience conducting field work to develop existing conditions for drawings
Ability to understand and apply local building codes, standards and guidelines
Ability to understand HVAC; the ability to coordinate plumbing and fire protection for building systems is beneficial, but not required
Minimum Education and Experience:
Technical or Associates degree from an accredited technical institution or college preferred
5+ years’ experience in mechanical design/drafting including the design, layout and sizing of mechanical piping and ductwork for building systems.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP
